First I would like to introduce myself a bit. I am a 25 year old unemployed woman who recently graduated from the University of South Carolina with my B.A. in History and Art History with a minor in Japanese and Asian Studies. I have kept up with my Japanese studies, although I do have to admit my ability to read kanji has suffered a bit. God help if I try to write it! I'm currently studying for the GRE so I can start the Masters of Librarian Science program in the spring. More personally, I also have two serious disabilities. However, I make do with what I have and am pretty happy with where I am in my life. Furthermore I have a wonderfully supportive husband! Now if I could just find a job...
Enough about my personal life though! On to why I wanted to create this blog. First, as someone who spent the past 5 years researching and writing, one would think I would be sick of it. The truth is I kind of miss it now that I'm not doing it anymore, so I decided to create a blog about my favorite hobby. The only issue is that there are a TON of gaming blogs out there. So I want this blog to be a bit different. My goal is to not only review the occasional game or post the occasional opinion piece, but to provide tips for starting and maintaining a gaming collection. On various websites I have run into tons of people asking for tips pertaining to their collections. And waaaaa-lahhh! This blog was born. Now to have readers. (Please stick around! I promise it will be interesting!)
Since my future career choice is archives, I know a bit about keeping things in good condition and I have also learned from personal mistakes. Also, I'm always learning new things. I will be sharing those tips via blog posts here. I also hope to inspire people to clear out some of their backlog as I finish some of my games.
I will try to post every week, although I may post more often than that depending on what is going on. As a side note: the name and layout may change as I get more creative. Right now the name was inspired by the fact that my frickin' collection has started to take over my living space despite me wanting it to. It is even invading my book and medical collections! :S
Anyways, thanks for reading and stay tuned!
